Wayne Assembly Autoracks NS > CSX

Unread post by Ypsi »

It’s been a number of years since this changed, but I was wondering if anyone knew the reason the Wayne assembly plant switched from CSX to NS with the ranger. Curious to if it was a rate, routing, service, or any other reason CSX lost the traffic. It seems on the NS side they do 4 tracks of 6 racks or so at a time. Where as the CSX side seemed to have a larger capacity.

I thought Ford and NS have an agreement and the majority of Ford vehicles end up on NS at mixing yards switched by NS. But perhaps this is an outdated arrangement and not in force now.
