Covered Hoppers are gone. There appears to be some type of a fence under construction around where the covered hoppers were.

The hoppers are sitting north of Ferry Street. The new chain link fencing is gated and long enough to fit a couple railcars, and has the Detroit style razor wire along the top. Not a surprise to me considering they have fences and gates all along this line.ConrailDetroit wrote:Covered Hoppers are gone. The 836 is still the primary engine in Detroit.Wow, I didn't know that unit was still operable.
Re: Detroit Connecting RR - Covered Hopper
Enquiring minds want to know. A couple months back I saw a Pepsi Cola tank truck pumping out (in?) a covered hopper along the DCON along Dequinder Ave. just south of Warren Ave. But, I was curious if anyone know what commodity is being hauled in the covered hoppers that was being transloaded? And, is it being shipped in or out?
