I was just wondering how many trains That I might see in Durand. I am headded up there tomarrow and was wondering if there would be a decient amount of rail traffic.

Durand is hit or miss with around 20-25 trains a day, best times to be there is the early morning or evenings.

If you are there about 1-3 pm and see a pickup truck near the switch just north of Main St, then the Huron and Eastern is coming into town in the next few minutes. About an hour after they pull through, then back in, they do it all over again to head back to Bay City.

Norm says most trains work Durand between midnight and 5am these days

I haven't been around the radio for a few weeks but I was hearing 489 work Durand about 12:30 every night. I saw them one day last week pass through Lansing about 06:30

490 also works Durand during the wee small hours of the morning before heading south.
