WOW!!! I had no idea the LSRC was like that. I think I under estimated that part of the state thinking there was nothing worth persuing, I think I may head up that way when I get my next pay check, but first I have to make it out to Lansing since I have been trying to get their for the past 4 months!
Hey Mike, it really would be worth the trip up here. Even with only 3 trains a day, there is so much rail history in Alpena. A few little known facts is that there used to be 2 and I am pretty sure 3 railroads at one time in Alpena, there is still the remains of a railroad bridge over the Thunder Bay River, there are a few hidden cars, there are old riverside train yards, etc.
If you, or anybody else every needed any kind of info, spots, etc, I am here.
Like I said, railfanning the Lake State is DEFINIATLY worth it, right Patrick?
Thanks,
LSRC Railfan
