CSX Hoppers at Grand Elk Yard.

Unread post by Jochs »

While in Grand Rapids this past Sunday, I noticed a string of CSX cars in the Grand Elk yard along US 131.
Does anyone know where these are going? They appeared to be loaded.

Phizer in Kalamazoo. Woodruff Coal company is handling them for Phizer. They get 20-40 car cuts that come in on Q335 several times a week.

Coal hoppers for Pfizer? I guess so; after all, aspirin is made from coal tar.

I noticed the cars too, plus others of the same series-- not a single dent in any of them. Maiden trips, perhaps?
