Southern Michigan Railroad training April 5

Unread post by Robert MacDowell »

Saturday April 5, the Southern Michigan Railroad (the heritage railway in Clinton) is doing a training/orientation. If you've wanted to volunteer and have a lot of fun with real trains and a good crew, it's a great opportunity.

It's also a good time to get on the engineer track, as you could be fully qualified inside six months if you can show the aptitude.

I know things have been sleepy at the Southern Michigan Railroad for awhile, but there have been some big changes. New people, new outlook, trains are running full, and we bought 90 acres of land for a future Illinois Railway Museum style site. On top of the railroad we already own.

Come on down, meet the volunteers, and be part of something exciting!
