Belt Railway of Chicago info
Looking for information on train symbols or how the BRC names / classifies there trains. Also looking for factual information on how this company is own vs. the six class one railroads ownership?
THANKS M. SHIREY

The BRoC is a go between the railroads, I believe now it is multi-owned by the serving railroads but maintains its unique operation. They have hump yards sorting off cars for routing beyond. I would have to believe any train move is done as a technically extra, as the moves may be on demand manuevers. For the specific railroads they may have their "named trains" coming and going as often many freights have regular daily operations.
I don't have specific details but I hope this is a bouncing off point for you.
