They had rail access in Lebanon (still do technically) but were unwilling to correct a "safety issue" with their loading doors. Railroad told them they needed to improve them, but it was too cost prohibitive in their eyes. Be curious to see if they do opt for rail access, and if it will be 'dual access' or not.

I understand ConAgra decided to move to an NS-served location at Frankfort for better (lower) rates.

They hadn't received service at Lebanon since probably 2006 anyway, so no love lost there for CSX.

Not sure what its called officially on CSX, but it is called the "Emporia" by everyone out of Anderson. Part of the "Michigan Division" between Benton Harbor (IIRC, maybe St. Joe) and Louisville. Not sure if the elevator at Emporia still gets regular service or not.

Thanks redside. The spur looks newer than the mainline. Also enjoyed scrolling up and down the line a little to see what other customers are serviced.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

LIRC is going to need all the online business they can get right now. I'm sure CSX is paying them decently for the trackage rights trains they're running, but CSX has pulled all the overhead traffic the LIRC was moving for them between Indy and Louisville. It is all going on other trains around the LIRC, I think via Evansville.

SIA has started shipping via CSX again. Been getting a trickle of racks back. Methinks SIA realized that putting their eggs all in one basket with NS wasn't the best way to move *all* the traffic. So far getting stuff for Cleveland and Walbridge. Thankfully not a ton of business right now. Those empty return autoracks are a b!tch to have to deal with in our yard. I can remember J726 having 8000' of empty return racks alone.

Another piece of tidbits from the article in RI, NS has established a local "L48" out of Fort Wayne to switch the SDI plant in Columbia City due to burgeoning rail traffic out of that facility. And in place of L48, LF14 the previous local that switched SDI triweekly is now just relegated to local work, CFE interchange traffic and switching the old GR&I industrial track off the NS at Runnion in the Fort.

L48 has been running with a pair of SD40-2s, some days they have the ex HLCX patch jobs. Here is one I shot back in March, several more yet to edit/ upload...
