Wellsboro

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone out there could tell me some "accurate" estimates of train traffic through Wellsboro. I'm well aware that CSX's Chicago Line is the same mainline that runs west out of Fostoria, OH, through Dashler, OH, etc. But I'm not sure of any other interchanges between Wellsboro and NW Ohio (I'm from Cleveland, by the way.). So if anyone would be able to tell me the frequency in comparison to that of West Fostoria, that would be great! CN Train frequencies would also be gretly appreciated, seeings as I've never railfanned the CN and I am not familiar with the line.

No other "interchanges" between DEshler and Wellsboro. The CSX tracks cross NS (ex-LE&W) at Walkerton, IN, NS (ex-CR Marion Branch) at Milford, IN, and NS (ex-Wabash) at St. Joe, IN, MAW at Defiance, OH and IORY at Hamler, OH -- but no trains get interchanged (save for an occasional grain train w/IORY). A few of the CSX trains that go through Fostoria, head south at Deshler, and would not run through Wellsboro. Between West Deshler and Chicago, the train count stays the same.

Here's a list (from your friend, the BullSheet) of CSX trains through Garrett, IN
http://www.bullsheet.com/news/qts-garrett.html
The only trains you wouldn't see from the list above are Q508 and Q509 that run east of Garrett.

You'll probably see 40-45 on CSX and around 20 or so on CN. Others from the area can lend their expertise. It's been a while since I've been to Wellsboro.

I was going to estimate somewhat closer to 50-55 on CSX and 20 on CN. The CKIN will operate at least 3 days a week and as often as 6, in nearby Union Mills. The Union Mills elevator is within 3/4 of a mile of the Wellsboro Crossing and the connection for the CKIN to the CSX comes into CSX just east of the diamonds.

There's only about 35 trains that run as scheduled most days (not "as required" or only run once a week).

Breaking down the BullSheet list:
(anyone that can modify this list, feel free to do so, I'm curious, as well)

Updated
Q090/Q091 run twice a week
Q100 Mo (and sometimes We)
Q109 We-Mo
Q110 Tu-Sa
Q112 Su-Fr
Q113 We-Sa
Q114 Daily
Q117 Daily
Q118 Daily
Q119 We-Su
Q135 Tu-Su
Q136 Tu-Su
Q137 As Required
Q138 Sa-We (L138 on Th)
Q146 Su-Fr
Q147 Tu-Su
Q149 Tu-Su
Q153 Tu
Q156 Daily
Q157 We-Su
Q159 We,Fr,Su
Q161 Tu-Su
Q164 Daily
Q165 ??
Q169 We-Su
Q200 As Required
Q209 As Required
Q246 As Required
Q267 As Required
Q288 As Required
Q324 ?? Does that run anymore?
Q351 Daily
Q368 Daily
Q369 As Required
Q380 Daily
Q381 Daily
Q383 Daily
Q386 Daily
Q387 Daily
Q390 Daily
Q393 Daily
Q500 Daily
Q501 Daily

So counting all the daily, or almost daily trains, including ones with question marks, there are 36 trains. Add in coal, coke, grain, whatever special movements you may see, and granted you go on a day when some of the one-day-a-week trains run, I would say 40-45...MAYBE 50 if you are really lucky. As you see, a lot of the intermodal traffic doesn't run at the beginning of the week...

52 a day in Deshler right now, that has been an accurate county over the last week. Expect about 35 to 40 west of there.

Should be a count between 35-45 west of Deshler. That's what I'm seeing lately.

Q090/091 is up to 3 per week as of last week. Q100 runs on Thursday only. Q/L159 runs Wed-Mon. Q165 is gone. Q369 is Daily. Q387 is gone.
FYI, that Q105 was a train from Columbus to Chicago for peak UPS, and came off after the first of the year. The symbol has been reincarnated as a Boston- St. Louis train via Crestline and Indy originating on Saturday night only. (because Q111 does not run out of Cleveland on Sunday night)
