7/26/11. WB LIFW through Van Wert at 11:40AM. Leading today were IORY 4032/ CORP 4024 and 66 cars. In this consist 25 grain hoppers including several CP/SOO/DME/Canada, 4 empty steel flats, very heavy on 28 loaded gons, 3 box cars and 6 tanks with a white tank bringing up the end.

There was a Van Wert turn apparently last night as the plastic hoppers for CSP are gone by Eisenhauer.

Also, there was another train just train through town tonight. The signal by the diamond is showing stop. We were coming back from Ft. Wayne and I saw the signal. No info on this one. Too tired.

I'll will when I can, but I'm moving on the first. I have a very busy week ahead. I think the slow order going on over here is about the crossing being rebuilt on TR 35, just west of Ada. I had noticed last week the materials including rail and all, laying there so I figured it was about to be done, I was by there today and it looked like they were pulling the track as I was going by, I'll check tomorrow to see if it's completed. If anyones interested in heads up on the Toledo Branch let me know, I am about to move to Findlay a half block away from it, I have a clear view from my bed room window :D Naw it didn't have any influence in picking the location. I'll be following your posts. I've grown quite fond of the CF&E over the past couple years. Thanks for them.
Later,
Jim

No, no you can keep those two pieces of junk. If between the CFE mechanical guys and trips to the WE can't keep them running, do you really think Norwood can do better?

Ah the grain train just passed thru Ada at 1:12 am, moving faster this evening being EB, the crossing at CR 35 isn't completed yet, saw the road closed signs on the way home tonight. He was picking up speed out of Ada (obviously coming out of a slow order).

8/2/11. WB LIFW at 11:20AM. Leading were possibly IORY 4036/CFE3886 or other normal lashups. Had a red/orange IORY unit and CFE unit. So maybe 4034 and 3883 or 3880/82? Too far away to see roadnumbers. The train through VW had 42 cars. 7 or 8 empty steel flats, 2 boxes, 2 or 3 tankers, 10 or so loaded gons and the rest grain cars including a few CP/SOO and 3 BN/BNSF .

EB FWLI with same units and around 40- 50 cars. Trees were in the way at times. Several gons, very heavy on loaded steel flats and 3 boxes. The steel is moving. Went through around 6:05 PM.

Heard the Van Wert turn around 1-1:15AM last night. It brought in 9 more plastics hoppers for CSP in town. Most likely went to CSP and picked empties also. OMYA, a few NAHX in the 9 cars. Most of the OMYA are ACFX RM's. Don't know yet if it worked the VW Terminal.

8/3/11. WB LIFW at 10:30AM with CFE3886/IORY 4036 and 20 cars. Train had 6 empty bulkhead flats, 1 box car, 2 gons and 11 grain cars for a total of 20 cars.

EB FWLI went through around 3:00PM I only heard that one. Definitely was IORY 4036 leading because of the horn. :)

8/4/11. WB CFE train LIFW with IORY 4034/CFE3882 leading with 52 cars in tow at 11:14 AM. The train consisted of 7 empty steel flats including bulkheads/flats all TTX, 7 box cars including 6 CN and 1 IANR, 11 loaded gons, 2 plastic hoppers with 1 Procor and 25 grain cars including the usual culprits BNGX, CSYX and FURX. 4034 had a sick sounding horn. Oh that's right it's a piece of junk! :) Still looks good even though looks can be deceiving. :)

EB FWLI at 4:15PM with CFE3882/IORY 4034 and 77 cars. Extremely heavy with grain cars. It had 4 gons including highside gon filled with scrap, 2 coil cars NOKL gon with yellow hoods common on the CFE and NS Coilshield. Front end of train had 25 grainers all for/from Bunge: BNGX, CSYX, FURX and AEX- 4 bay hoppers. 71 of the cars were grainers used by Bunge including several Cargill grainers: CGAX, CGOX and [ SAMX ] which I hadn't seen through here. Well maybe. Also, 3 AGP hoppers and 5 car cut of FMLX and TGSX grainers. No steel on this one. It'll be coming. The Cargill hoppers have been down at Bunge in Decatur,IN quite often.

WB at 10:05PM in VW LIVW brought 6 grain hoppers to the Scott Equity elevator and went out to CSP. Was 9 plastics hoppers by Eisenhauer for CSP. Will have to check if it worked the VW Terminal. Power was IORY 4034/CFE 3882.

The I&O took 70 cars of CSYX, FURX and BNGX to Springfield on Wednesday. Last I heard they were going to split them up and load them with soybeans for Decatur from West Liberty and Mechanicsburg- all subject to change.

I'm going to Lima for the DT&I Modeler's meet tomorrow and we might end up going to Fort Wayne instead of the Lima model railroad club after the meet ends. Anything worth stopping to see in Van Wert?

Sorry I missed your post Midland. I would definitely have went to FW instead. Not much to see in VW. FW you have plenty of NS and the CFE which you know. Didn't see your post until late Saturday afternoon. Been running almost everyday to the hospital in FW because my mom's been there 16 days now. The whole family's been running up there. Haven't been seeing the trains as much. But it's worth it.

8/8/11. Rolling at track speed through Van Wert WB was LIFW at 11:45AM. Leading long nose forward was IORY 4036 along with CFE 3886. In tow were 40 cars. Among them were 2 empty steel flats, 2 boxes, 9 tanks most if not all for Bunge, 11 loaded gons and 15 grainers including a BNSF and AGP and a few Cargill. Also, there was 1 Procor plastics hopper.

There are 7 plastics hoppers for CSP in VW by Eisenhauer mostly OMYA, 2 were took out to CSP by VW turn recently and there also 6 or 7 grain cars at Scott Equity. Stil 8-10 soda ash hoppers at VW Terminal.
