CSX Q376-22
CSX Q376-22
Anyone know of a q376? Q376-22 with UP 8055 come up from the south and is going east at fostoria.
Re: CSX Q376-22
UP is looking to shift traffic out of Chicago. This is supposedly the old Q390, with Willard and Selkirk traffic out of North Platte. Being handed off at St Louis. Supposedly a semi-permanent change, so we'll see.Y@ wrote:Extra train out of St. Louis running due to the problems in Chicago.
Extra or rerouted train would get an X or an R symbol. Q trains are regularly scheduled moves.

Q383 originated out of Cincinnati on Friday. Is that now a regularly scheduled move?

Thanks for the clarification Russ, the way it had previously been explained to me was that it was only a temporary train. I guess I shouldn't have called it an "extra."CSX_CO wrote:UP is looking to shift traffic out of Chicago. This is supposedly the old Q390, with Willard and Selkirk traffic out of North Platte. New symbol on UP is QNPCXP, which becomes Q376.

Shows as a "Chicago Contingency" but it shows no expiration date for the change. Looks to be all BNSF bound traffic, some for Galesburg, some for Northtown.railohio wrote:Q383 originated out of Cincinnati on Friday. Is that now a regularly scheduled move?

Q376 with UP power went through Shelby on the Big 4 on Monday. I caught it around 1pm in Shelby.

Re: CSX Q376-22
With the BRC plugged, CSX was sending the BNSF and UP traffic out of Selkirk to Cincinnati as train Q385. BNSF traffic was assembled to form a Q383 to Chicago and UP traffic was assembled to form a Q355 to St. Louis. BRC must be getting back to normal, as there hasn't been another Q385 this week, and we are back to multiple 393's most days. I would expect the 383's and 355's to dry up shortly if they haven't already.
Q376 has run 3 times so far, originating in St. Louis, and went to Selkirk once and Willard twice. It appears to be the UP traffic formerly on Q390, which more recently went to Barr for connection to Q380.
All these changes were temporary contingency plans due to the weather/congestion in Chicago.
