The M&N will be putting aside 5 steamers to represent a "heritage" fleet. Locomotives #3 and #5, #55, #40, #56 will recieve original owners lettering and original numbers. The new numbers/owners are as follows:
#3-WM 734, #5-WM 750, #55-WM 1401, #40-B&O 4515, #56-B&O 7609. Even though the M&N is a heritage road, these 5 steamers will represent the M&N's parent companies. MNTC #66, #21 may be added later. There are more WM steamers in the heritage fleet because the WM was primary owner of the M&N. The first M&N locomotive was a WM M-1a 0-6-6-0 based out of Hagerstown. The full history of the M&N will be released when the heritage steamers are finished.

I havent posted any trains over the last past weeks because track maintenance crews are working on the signals and switches at Point of Rocks. The Signals will still be B&O CPLs, but they will recieve new wiring and new lenses. The switches are being replaced. Train operations will resume normally next Tuesday.

In other news, 2 more steamers have been aquired. We got a PRR T-1 from a junkyard (still amazed it was there) in Northern PA. The T-1 is in very rough condition, but it can be saved. Unfortunately, there was no tender, but using blueprints and the tender from our other duplex (a Q1) we can build another tender. It will be along time until the "Shark" is in running condition. The other engine aquired is a UP challenger (yes a UP challenger). Its a UP class CSA-2 built by ALCo in 1937. Its number is 3934 (later 3834). She is in better condition than the T1, but still needs a lot of work. These 2 will be on the storage tracks in Cumberland.

Also in the news, the former PRR line from Hanover, PA to Frederick, MD will be opened tomorrow evening. The first train will be hauled by a PRR locomotive, B6 #1.

We are developing an intermodal service between Pittsburg and Baltimore. We are looking for a name for the service as well as a slogan to go with it. This new service will be pulled by our "new" steamer, the NGS-1D #90. Please post ideas here, or send me a PM.

A truck line will be created to serve with the Intermodal service. The trucks will serve off line towns. We are considering an airline, but not with the big airliners. We would use the small commuter planes. As of now, the truck line is in the works, and the airline is on the drawing board. We are going to run 2 unnamed roadrailer trains from Pittsburg to Baltimore and back for testing. The trucks wont hit the road until atleast August. We've also purchased a small Container barge that will be used between Norfolk and Baltimore. As well as Philadelphia and Baltimore. With these sources, our intermodal traffic will increases. In anticipation of these great steps forward, we are going to build 9 more of our NGS-1D's and possible a few NGS-1W wide cab locomotives. If everything goes as planned, 2013 will be a very good year for us.
