Wacky consist on T-MNB this morning. Picked up a string of former MNTC locomotives which were purchased by the Saginaw and Mid Michigan (SAMM) RR. They go to the MQT in New Buffalo, who will take them to the SAMM. The consist included several early 6 axle EMDs and ALCOs. Train is currently in New Buffalo...

Also, CSX ran a monster UP grain train over the Monon early this morning. Three Union Pacific motors and about 130 cars. Was into Lafayette at around 8:30am, and is currently nearing Crawfordsville, where it will hop back onto CSX rails.

W-LC2 taking a trainload of MOW equipment up to Chicago this morning, as well.

Trains on the Monon as of 11:30pm...
A-LC2 at Ames (Crawfordsville) waiting for 431; BNSF 4587(C44-9W), CSX 4015 (SD40-3)

CI-1 at Shelby; CIL 3360 (C40-8W), CP 9649 (AC44CW)
BL-1 at Rensselaer; CP 8534 (AC44CW), CP 5911 (SD40-2), CIL 1075 (TSt.L paint* GP38-2)

Transfer is currently heading by to Michigan City. Interchange went off flawless. We had a crew there to help with the moves and airtests. X-BUFGRR-24 is heading back to GR with the SAMM units and the general freight.

Inbound T-MNB to 6 track
Outbound T-MNB in 8 track doubled to 4
Outbound -BUFGRR-24 in 6 track

T-MNB is currently heldout at CP Annoyance for 1 more TSCR coal drag. Will wait for I-CHIGRR-24 to clear up as well
X-BUFGRR-24 is already past Sawyer, making good time.

All the units got interchanged just fine. Yard crew got there early today to get the trains ready to go. They then set their GP40 aside to help the interchange fly.

Overhaul on 4 of MQTs C425s started today. They all fit into the Hammond shops' stalls, so that should speed up the process. Crews started today with giving the engines a general inspection. They looked over all the current equipment and parts, seeing what needs to be replaced, etc...

The Monon is also in the process of digging out from this recent snowstorm. The southern end of the line was once again hit pretty hard, with around 8 inches of heavy, wet snow falling. Operations in Indianapolis were also hampered pretty harshly, and a few trains are running late out of Indy today. Snow and plow crews have done a good job of cleaning up most of the line.

Trains on the Monon as of 8pm...
LC-2 at Brookston; CIL 3366 (C40-8W), CIL 3347 (C40-8W)
IC-2 at Rensselaer; CIL 3360 (C40-8W), CIL 3307 (SD40-2)
IL-1 at Lafayette; CP 9649 (AC44CW)
LI-2 at Mitchell; CIL 3308 (SD40-2), CIL 2020 (GP40E)
BL-1 at New Albany; CIL 3324 (SD40-2), CP 8859 (ES44AC)
LB-2 at Salem; CP 5911 (SD40-2), CP 8534 (AC44CW)
664 at Oolitic; UP 7143 (AC44CW), UP 7053 (AC4460CW)

We should be receiving a generator in an 8-axled boxcar shortly via you from the MNTC connection in (insert town name here :P ). Send her up to us in New Buffalo. She should not need her own train as long as you have enough horsepower on the point and keep her right behind the iron horses.

The generator won't arrive today, they just reported going through Cumberland. They are gonna make a crew change in Pittsburg tonight around 9-ish. They new crew is goin to run the train overnight and should have the generator at the interchange in Alida by at least 6:00am. its early in the morning, but it should be there in the morning. Is there a setout there where the crew can rest? The Generators are from Europe, but we put them under a protective container from Caterpillar gen.

Yeah, there is plenty of room for the load and the engine to layover.
