CN Train Location Updates - March 2024

What looked like an early 251 with three locomotives and a short train just went past MP 22.5 at 8:54 am. He may be stabbed by departing Amtrak 353 leaving Pontiac about now.

9:09 am edit: Wrong. They held Amtrak at Pontiac for 251's passing. Now 353 is running about 15 minutes late out of the chute.

10:34 - E251 with CN 8863/CN 2996/CN 3877/CN 3271 takes the Chicago Wye in Durand.

10:42 - W968 with CN 5772 solo and the CWR train takes the Chicago Wye and heads south on the Holly Subdivision to lay some rail at your mom's house.

NB 515 flying by MP 22.5 with 15 empty centerbeams and 1 gondola at 3:31 pm.

515 northbound by Opdyke with 5466 leading LHF, all centerbeams plus a scrap gon probably from DCON.

CN L507 working Moterm as of 16:38. Seems to be SD70M-2 leader.

M397 in Ontario has CN 3340/UP 8697/GEXR 3393. GEXR 3393 is for the HESR. Should be in Port Huron after midnight. Unknown if GEXR 3393 will be set off in Flint or BC.

The 3393 did not get set off in Flint. Here is is passing Mount Hope in Lansing just after 8:00 AM

lol they took it all the way to Kirk - i saw it on the Griffith cam earlier. Amazing job by CN!

This engine ended up coming back on M394 the next day. It was pulled in Flint and R944 took it to Durand.

251 past MP 22.5 at 12:00 pm with three locomotives, all working, lots of tanks and empty sand cars. Just a few auto racks at the end.

Late report from last night on the South Holly:

There was a 513 with 9607. It went south with one tank around 7:30 pm, came back around 8:15 pm.

507 and 508 passed each other locomotive to locomotive in my backyard at 8 pm last night. Only one of a handful of times over the last 34 years that that has happened so precisely out back.
