22:45 - Sounded like a signal maintainer contacted dispatch, not much was heard aside from talk of a new relay. Earlier today, L303 encountered an approach signal at the WE of Brighton and a stop signal at the EE. After getting permission to pass, they encountered a "restricted proceed" at CH 43 (all reds on an ABS). Their first clear signal after the fact was at Green Oak CH 40. About the same time, L302 was stopped east of Fowlerville regarding a dragging strap towards the end of their train.

I should have said "what looks like a stop indication, but on an ABS" but did not for the sake of brevity. Evidently what I said was ambiguous, the original post has been corrected. With a "this post has been edited" note lengthening that post, in addition these replies, all efforts to keep things concise have been thwarted.

CH 43 was displaying a single red for the eastbound aspect, a restricted proceed. It looks like a stop indication, but is in fact a restricted proceed as you can't get a stop indication on an intermediate signal. I'll add that ZVBX 625750, 625775, 97011, and 76096 brought up the rear of L303, those behind three fallen flag covered hoppers, one a Rock Island, and two C&NW.

G801-28 (loaded grain train) @ 04:24 at Grand Ledge mp CH97.8 contacted the Dispatcher advising they'll be departing soon. He has CSX engines #3086 + #3231 & 87 cars. I don't know if the following comment the Engineer had made to the Dispatcher means he'll be setting up his train to run with a rear dpu: "need to side step an engine, put it on the east end, put one on the west end & then head west".
He had arrived Grand Ledge as empty grain train G792-23 with the #3231 leading on March 26th.

M327-28 @ 05:11 Grand Rapids, Mi mark up with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #918 + #3221 + #2016 & 112 cars (41 loads + 71 empties) @ 7,563 tons & 6,522 feet long. He’ll be departing behind Amtrak P371.

Train is headed towards Chicago for the BNSF. Will be coming thru GR for a change.

Can't say for sure, but if they told the RN they were setting up for a rear DPU then I would say so. Leader should be the 3231, as it was the leader when it arrived.
