CN Train Location Updates - January 2024

M385 through Common Rd. @ 15:14. CN 3894 & 3199 with 138 cars. A lot of auto racks today making it 11,000 feet.

M382 through Common Rd. @ 15:53. CN 3045 & 2755 with 173 cars, equally as long.

M382 waited in Detroit for a few hours since both trains were massive. They finally met at Forest Lawn.

507 past MP 22.5 at 5:10 pm.

M382 waited in Detroit for a few hours since both trains were massive. They finally met at Forest Lawn.

I also got both of these trains! I was at an appointment off Harrington Road near Mt. Clemens and saw 385! CN ET44AC #3894 is a "100" unit! At Masonic Road, Fraser, I caught northbound 382! CN (ex CitiRail) ES44AC #2755! The "CitiRail" name is still visible (black line through name) and spray painted black "CN" and numbers! It cleared Masonic Road at 3:59 p.m. Yes long train!!!! I also caught CN 2755 second on train 385 last Father's Day (6-18-23) in Mount Clemens!

Amtrak 351 ran this morning, just passing MP 22.5 on time at 5:51 am, first 351 in a long time. Winter must be over. I thought I heard an Amtrak last night around 12:30 am go by, a half hour earlier than 354, when it was running, used to go buy. I am guessing it was an equipment move to stage trains out of Pontiac today.

SB 515 went past MP 22.5 around 7:45 am this morning with 5447 and a short train.

And Amtrak 353 also is running today, leaving on time out of Pontiac. Phew.

Watched him go by Opdyke, engineer was a buddy of mine so I got a double peace sign and I’m pretty sure a callout on the radio!

SB 515 went past MP 22.5 around 7:45 am this morning with 5447 and a short train.

Should be working FCA/Stallantis in Mount Clements as of this time.

BCRail 4644 is on E251 today, not by Fort Street yet and unsure if it’s leading or trailing.

09:30 - EB Q116 with CN 5701/BCOL 4644 (red and white) across the Farm Lane bridge on MSU’s campus.

Nice to get something unique. Train is all intermodal today.

As expected this is 251 today by the Fort St cam at 9:22

Four trains met between Cedar (MP 221) and Okemos (MP 227) this afternoon between 15:00 and 16:00 including E251 with BCOL 4644.
15:00 - eastbound by MP 225 on M1, 3047 and 2901 leading manifest traffic, stopping at Okemos to meet E251.
15:20 - E251 by East Lansing Station (MP 223) on M2 with 5701 and BCOL 4644 (elephant style) leading manifest traffic. Second EB approaching the diamond.
15:33 - westbound by MP 225 on M2 with 2280 and 5622 leading intermodal and racks.
15:50 - eastbound by MP 225 on M1 with 3280 and 3876 (rear DPU) with manifest traffic.

Amtrak's Wolverines seem back on track today, at least those that have been out of Pontiac. 355 left Pontiac on time. Temperature outside: 37 degrees.
