Yesterday, AB-1 ran out to Grosvenor Junctionto retrieve ADBF 1755 and a MOW flat car amongst other duties. 1755 is the parts unit. 1752 led back with 1759 on the rear.

JAIL Z646 across W. Michigan Ave and over 496 as they head to CN to pick up the 9 cars CN left them yesterday. CN had to grab the cars that JAIL gave them Wednesday in two cuts and then shove the 2.5 mikes back in the rain yesterday. JAIL did not stick around for that and went back to Ensel.

I forgot to mention on Tuesday but JAIL ran two jobs in Lansing. One with 821 solo to CSX, CN, Padnos and Saginaw and Cavanaugh Yards and a second job with 1751 solo in Mason/Holt, working RSDC, 3 transloads and Michigan Packaging.

I am hearing what sounds like train horns on Grand Elk tracks in the distance of Wyoming, Mi at this time, 10:50pm. Muffled train horns

Chased the NKP 765 excursion yesterday from Pleasant Lake IN up to Hillsdale and return and noted the following INER sights:

Every visible siding in Fremont was full of covered hoppers. I think all of the local businesses that get rail service here receive covered hoppers, so I’m not totally sure what cars were going where, but it was good to see.

Reading was empty. In Hillsdale, a line of 3-4 high side gons were stages along the north side of the wye near large piles of what looks like scrap RR supplies (or maybe “critical spares ). Further north by Burger King was a lineup of maybe 6ish large tank cars.

Since we were mainly chasing the excursion, we didn’t venture beyond Hillsdale or past Pleasant Lake.

765 looks as amazing as ever. It felt weird to not come across a single INER unit in my travels! After years of rebuilding programs, the INER mainline appears to be in great condition.
