GLC was in TC overnight. Two "weekend" trains in TC two weeks in a row. I mean technically it was a weekend being they arrived Friday night and didn't leave until well after midnight!

Flew over Amerhart in Williamsburg on a Sun Country flight from TC today, and there are 4 loaded center beams in their siding. Those were delivered overnight Friday night/Saturday morning. The captain wouldn't fly over Beacon....

Started this past spring. 5 airlines in TC, and building a 2nd concourse in 2024/25.

13:35 - OSTN SB into Durand with 383/382 - they had to use the Port Huron Wye for headroom because a WB E271 was lined thru Durand

13:52 - ONTN NB out of Owosso with...GET THIS...385/391/329/396 - f/r/f/r - 69 cars, looked like all from NS via AARR - of note is the NS scrap tie gondolas - new traffic for McBain - 20 more tie gondola loads for McBain - 11 CSX, 9 NS (not the NSSX ones but actual real life NS for real) and also one empty gondola for beacon

14:20 - OSTN SB thru Durand with 383/382 - 42 empty csx tie gondolas, one plastics hopper, 6 LPG tank cars, one empty coke hopper, 14 loaded tanks from ZFS and 8 loaded covered hoppers from ZFS - 72 for csx

My guess on the concrete ties would be the power plant in McBain. I know they sort out ties and sell good one's back out by rail&truck, perhaps there doing that with these also? Or just grinding them up for other use? The owners of the power plant are a salvage operation also I believe.

Maintenance replaced the E-Bell at the Garfield Road crossing in Traverse City sometime recently, there is now a new WCH bell there. They left the dead mechanical bell up for some reason.

06:03 - NB GLC OSTN with 382/382 thru Durand

05:00 - 385/391/396 at Perrinton on the GLC Middleton Branch. They were working overnight on spotting about 20 inbounds and pulling a unit grain train from MAC plus a few extra outbound empties. 3 trips to get the job done due to limitations on how many loads they can pull at once.
