SB 515 went past MP 22.5 at 7:40 am.

Never heard Amtrak 351 go by this morning and the Status feature on their website isn't working for me to check it.
They're running out of Dearborn today and tomorrow. No trains through Detroit today except 515.

If the Beaubien diamond replacement is happening, that would explain no Amtrak.

Well, my "Brown 40" is happening! I became whatever!!!!
Now, my first train(s) of my new milestone was local 515! I photographed it after it departed going north from Great Lakes Recycling®!!!! It had (ex EMD/Oakway®) CN SD60 #5430 and 32 cars! Fairly long local! Cleared 13 Mile Road, Roseville/Fraser, at 9:30 a.m. OK, does this train only go to Mount Clemens to turn around? I was out with errands and we (incl. Mom (Susan)) caught it at 15 Mile Road, Clinton TWP.! Southbound 515! Just seconds after I said "The local should be coming back soon"....There it was!!!!!!    I didn't even know it was coming (traffic/noise)! It was passing here about 11:02 a.m. Also with 32 cars which looked like the same ones! It had a few work gondolas on the north end!

Q116 working Lansing at this time with solo CN #8014. 35 racks + 12 wells of stacks.

I do know there's the Beaubein diamond work so it wasn't likely for the daily traffic to pass through until whenever, but Q116 is confirmed symbol as heard over radio when it took engineer about 4x minimum to get a reply back upon his couple-mile arrival. No idea how much work he has at Cory Yd in Lansing before proceeding.

Happy birthday Robert

20:05 - WB L508 with CN 5740/CN 5787 was lined out of Flint. Moterm stacks on the head end and some manifest cars that they’ll drop in Pontiac. Train will turn at Moterm tonight and return to Flint with cars from Moterm due to Beaubien being shut down until Saturday noon.

No L507, E251 or any NS/CR trains thru to the Sterling Secondary either. Flying Eagle TV is currently looking for new hobbies.

I was gone yesterday and so didn't notice no trains on the Holly. No Amtrak 351 today either.

Not sure if it is still the case but the "diamond" at Beaubien, where GTW and NYC crossed (CN and CR now), had "moveable points" or something like that. They were more like switches that could route trains from one line to the next (though I don't know how often they did that). And it is a very small degree'd diamond, the four tracks (two for each railroad) are almost parallel there where they cross (and cross again less than a mile to the east at Milwaukee Junction). And years ago when there was a tower and operator at Beaubien and I would go visit there to railfan. The operator carried a gun for protection. I felt very safe visiting him (once I got inside).

Last night passing Flint Yard around 8:30 pm there was IC 6250, an SD40 (-2?) in black switching the yard. And the power for 508 was there (now I know why). And another old SD70 or 75.

P365 took M1 at cpOkemos and was by mp225 at 08:40. The back of the terrain blocked both north and southbound Harrison at the EL station.

Waiting on Thorofare west of where it transitions to M1 Cedar eastward was L500 with a solo CN and had picked up 116's intermodal dropped off at Cory Yd yesterday. Cleared Thorofare at 09:19.

Yeah. Movable point frogs. They were installing the new panels around 4 yesterday.

Diamond will be open for first train shortly after noon. Probably some welding and surfacing through Sunday.

Amtrak 350 just passed MP 22.5 on the Holly at 3:13 pm. First train today. Locomotive on each end. About an hour behind schedule. Yay. Been lonely on the Holly.
