At around 5 pm I was stopped by a WB (headed towards Detroit, this used to be WB on this line) on the Mount Clemens Sub. at 8 Mile Road. When it cleared and I crossed the tracks I saw at the entrance to the long spur there north of 8 Mile that I once heard called the Turkey Trail what seems to be a new signal controlling the entrance to the mainline from the spur.

The Turkey Trail signal was installed 6 years ago (2017) when the MTC sub CTC project was completed. The TT is the old entrance to Gillen yard, and the signal was installed due to the large amount of traffic in and out of Polyterm (CN Cargoflow) and the close proximity to the Nolan double track interlocking across 8 mile. L515 is in there most days of the week with tanks and covered hoppers. They also leave their string of lumber loads for Nolan Distribution on the old WB main at Gillen while switching Polyterm - so the Turkey Trail signals get a workout daily. Entrance to the TT for EB/NB trains is governed by the Nolan absolute signal...

19:43 - M396 led by 8832, 2543, 8886, and 3144 passing Bouge St. MP 225 M2 on the Flint Sub.
21:05 - P364 passing Okemos Rd. MP 227.
21:18 - EB passing MP 227 with 3102 leading and 3889 as rear DPU.
22:00 - WB passing MP 227, all intermodal traffic with single levels on the front. Too dark for road numbers.

CN 4936-7 are two more of the GP-38s that CN purchased.
OK, does anyone know how many "New" GP38-2s CN has purchased? :?: What were these previously? :?: Are they for operation in Canada? :?: I see they must continue the "4900 series" from GTW 4934!!!! Hopefully these things won't replace those cool CN GP9RM units in Canada!!!!

They bought 7. So far four are in Canada. The rest are still yet to be delivered.

Yes they continued after the GTW numbers however did not assign the units to the GTW.

A very early L515 north by Opdyke at 1:10. About 6 cars from the end (train was probably 35-40 cars) was a Cotton Belt boxcar with very little tagging and still retaining it’s SSW reporting mark.

As of 1:26, E251 is lined north on #2. I suspect he isn’t too far away.

aaaand E251 by Opdyke at 1:45 with a 100th anny GEVO and a UP SD70ACe. Weird consist. More manifest than racks.

507 just went flying past MP 22.5 with a longer than usual train including autoracks which I don't think I have seen on 507 before at 5:44 pm.
