Anyone hear anything on D705?
For the second weekend in a row, there was no D706 on Saturday, so there will be no D705 on Sunday.

Does anybody know how many cars are on this? Will it necessitate an extra MQT train just for it if it's long enough? Also, will this be a regular thing going forward, or is this train an one-time thing? I don't think I've noticed this symbol before in the last year.

See SD80MAC's reply for the Marquette train handling. This is the first grainer on the Marquette in a while so I'm not sure if it'll be a regular thing.

One time, speed load. Most likely will be an extra crew but someone like SD80MAC could be more helpful.

Sometimes I forget that some of you kids haven't seen a Marquette grain train before. They used to do 4-6 trains a season regularly, but its been a good few years since they've done a grain train in Newaygo with any regularity. They tried one a few years back with run-through power, which didn't work well. The last one I saw was in 2017, I think there's only been 1 or 2 since then. In the past, Z151 would bring the train up to the elevator and back down to GR. Elevator has their own crew for loading the train. What happens this time remains yet to be seen.

Are there any photos of the train with the run through power? I have never seen nor heard of that happening!

That run through power with the BNSF C4 and Csx SD60 was because we didn’t have enough locos to pull it and it kept sitting until we reached out to Csx for power as that train was racking up money. Was a fun day and was also the only time we have had foreign power since I’ve been here. 90’s suck there hasn’t been any talk of it being a speed train. 65 fit perfectly at Mac so this requires stashing 25 cars. Pulling 30 loads the next day, spotting the 25 and then finally putting it all together and running south a day or two later. Normally it’s with the general fright we’ll see how it gets pulled this year once it’s loaded as we have newer management. Mac alone doesn’t have the capability of loading a train in 24 hours, there have been ideas tossed around over the years but nothing has come of it as of yet. Newaygo for the most part trucks their grain to one of their other elevators or down to Woodbury any more but with fuel prices going up maybe we will get more trains.
