13:40: D702 arriving back at Waverly Yard from Wyoming with its usual pair of Geep 38-2s and 67 cars, including 13 from Buzzi, a single coil for Arlington, a larger than normal allotment of SMW and MMA boxcars, 4 loaded bulkhead flats for Lumbermans, and 32 empty ash gons on the tail for Muskegon. The balance was a mix of tankcars, covered hoppers and gondolas.

Was awake myself and heard 705 coming thru South Lyon prior, and was out standing track side under the street light in plenty of time when it went by me at 03:47 Had 149 cars, one less than the last 705 train. CSX 738 on the head end with DPU 3211 after the 68th car. Not that it makes any difference, but the last D706 train on Thursday evening had 738 DPU after the 44th car. So what ARE you doing out at all hours of the night, amessmann??

Regarding the quesstion Tom49801 had for me on the cars sitting on the main for days at Howell, which was responded to by SD80MAC, it is only D708 that leaves cars on the main, not GLC, and it is for D708's convenience only not for GLC's benefit. While it cuts time for 708s work, it makes much more work for road trains. Not a major isssue when GLC picks these cars up within a 12 hour period, but when they leave them there for two days is a different matter.

Sorry for the newbie question but I don't have a bearing on timing for trains on that sub yet...about how long should it take to get to Sunnyside? Looks like they should be going 40-50 that whole way (according to a 2005 timetable) so I'm thinking about 1:15pm to be to Sunnyside?
