D705 and D706 still have not settled into a predictable pattern. However, we have gotten some daylight movements out of them.

It seems to have a correlation with how easily the previous crew can get across or not... it’s a little hard to turn consistently when you use the same engines both ways and it dies en route routinely.

D700-14 had gone westward with CSX engines #6547 + #6394 & had returned eastward with CSX engines in reverse order after running around their train to make the return trip to Holland (#6394 + #6547). D700 had previously ran with the CSX #2652 & CSX #6394.

Q327-15 @ 09:40am westward reported by the DD mp CG44.2 with 628 axles & 9,194 feet long. CSX #3198 leading + mid CSX engine #884 & 154 cars. He had picked up 30 cars from Holland.
Q326-15 @ 09:40am eastward reported by the DD mp CG91.9 with 304 axles & 4,203 feet long. CSX engine #222 + 1 & 73 cars. From a conversation with Dispatch, DD108.9 & DD91.9 are indicating he has 1 extra car & will do a roll by check at Benton Harbor. Extra car was found in the 23rd position & Dispatch read off the car's serial number. I'm assuming there's an AEI near Benton Harbor? He will be meeting Q327 at either Kirk or Gross, per the Dispatcher.
Q326-15 @ 09:56am eastward reported clear of the St Joseph Bridge. It was decided to put Q326 inside Gross at mp CG63.1

With a new crew on board, D906 now had 179 cars leaving Lansing last night, four more than they arrived with, with the usual large set off and pick up. Made it by South Lyon at 01:00, earlier than I expected. D708 took back 63 cars to Lansing, 45 from the Howell pass and 18 more from the transfer. They left their GLC cars in the Fowlerville pass for another day.

What's an AEI?
Hi, AEI is an "Automatic Equipment Identification" system that reads the RFI (Radio Frequency Identification) tags that are placed on the rail cars. The AEI is a small white box on a pole placed near the track & it scans the RFI tags on the passing cars. The RFI tag has all of the cars info & it's a way of tracking where a particular car is along any railroad in the country that has AEI equipment. You can find videos of it on YouTube (think of it as being an electronic bar code that is scanned by radio waves).
