It's CSX engine #2652 & it looked like that was the "Operation Life Saver" caboose he had.

Q326 Just passed by the WE Sawyer headed east. CSX 4016 & 782. Shortish train. Maybe 50-60 cars. One of the loaded tie gons toward the front third of the train was just screaming when it went by. Wouldn't be surprised it was making enough heat somewhere to trip a HBD along the way.

hi tom
yes it was the ols crummy.
y121 would use it every time they would work zeeland, padnos, harlem etc.
the conductor would ride the rear platform and call the signals switches, and the crossing gates
to the engineer. now with 702 running, the crew will use it only if they only work zeeland
and then return to wy, if they go to wyoming , or work zeeland lumber and then go to
wyoming, they don't run with the ols cab that i have seen.

They usually run with the caboose when shoving down the Dock Track in Holland when working Padnos and Heinz, too

Jetlink, if you see or hear something SCREAMING call the dispatcher and tell them your location, the sound and the train. The numbers are posted at or on the crossings. Then the crew can scope it out and fix it or set it out.
How would you feel if they hit the ground 20 miles down the line and you didn't call?
Use your discretion, of course, but call. The conductor can chase it down if need be. Not a problem.
Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Just for the heads up for any rail fans on the Plymouth sub. I just talked to a CSX maintenance person who was working on the turnout in south Lyon. He said that D705 should pass through south Lyon around 11:40. He also said that around 11:20 a track inspection team should come through.

Thanks for the update on d705. I have heard that v44 is headed toward Plymouth. When do you think it would come by south Lyon?
