Thanks. Where on MS did they originate? Who uses or generates ash?
From the now-demolished BC Cobb Coal-Fired Power Plant in Muskegon. They're mining out the bottom ash pits for environmental remediation.
Thanks! Good business while it lasts...

K862 is sitting at Ivanrest in Grandville. Don't know why they didn't proceed into Wyoming yard but likely will run thru the yard when it gets a new crew to head east. Was hoping to catch Q327-13 but I haven't herd from them.
Symbol changed to K813. Prolly waiting for a D906 crew to take it down to Webbertucky.

The D908 train that followed D906 out of Lansing last night had 84 cars for GLC. Arrived in Howell at 12:20, departed back west to Lansing at 03:20. At least one if not multiple road crossings were blocked during the entire time they were here. 908 pulled into the pass on top of the 84 cars GLC sat off, pushed them east out onto the main at Ann Pere and sat off their 84 cars behind them. Crew estimated from the start from the length of their train they would have to leave 12 of these east of Lucy Road. Instead of having the RN letting them know when they cleared the bond at the west of the pass, they went by their estimation, and did just that. As it turned out, they missed clearing the bond east of Lucy by six feet and still had room to clear the EB single. So, they left it like that which the means the gates and flashers will remain down (as there still were at 11:00 Sunday morning until the cars are moved. As it turned out there was EASY, enough room at the west end of the siding to hold six of those twelve cars to avoid this.

D908 did not pick up the other 9 cars for CSX that were tight to the bond in the transfer. Combine this with the cars parked east of Lucy in the pass will not bode well for school busses needing to get across the crossing on Monday morning if GLC does not show up to move them. Cars left contained which I thought were 31 tie lads, 34 three or four bay covered hoppers, 15 tank cars, 1 coke load, 2 pole loads and one lumber flat.
