Train 515, the local out of Pontiac, had 5435 and 5852 as power today. Must be a long train it is bringing back tonight as its SB train wasn't that long. It passed MP 22.5 at 9:40 am.

Train 251 is crawling up the Hill, passing MP 22.5 at 1:40 pm with 5445 leading 2338. There is a dark red caboose as the first car in the train. Couldn't see any markings. It had an air-conditioning unit or some fan on the roof in front of the cupola. Fair number of cars for Pontiac on the head end.

Wow, are they doing some more "Testing" in the area with this caboose? Would they come back to the Mt. Clemens Subdivision? It would be great seeing this caboose again!!!!

Amtrak 365 departed LNS on time at 08:45 with P42 #61 leading, 6 cars and charger 4629 on the tail. The station volunteer estimated 220 people boarded today.

A CN tractor with GTW flatcar tolled East around 08:55. By 09:05, a westbound mixed freight behind lone CN 3804 took a high green behind Amtrak at Trowbridge Diamond. Anyone know what train number this is?

15:25, CN stack train entering theHolly from the High Wye in Durand. 15:35 HESR arriving. Additional WB and EB CN traffic approaching.

15:40, EB manifest with mixed and autoracks over the diamond, CN3883 leading I think. HESR is shoving back into Durand Yard with over 100 cars.

16:00 HESR doubling their train back into the yard. 2026, 3414 and 3390 for power. Another westbound is lined thru on the main.

The JAIL gon was pulled from Friedland. We watched them pull it from Old Town this morning. Awesome to see them weave thru the neighborhood!!

Southbound 514 by Linden at 3:53pm with CN 5413, CN53xx (couldn't tell the numbers - this unit (SD40-2???) looked pretty beat up), 50 intermodal cars.

Thanks David! Looks like they will get a crew change at Durand and then head west. At 17:20, a fairly short auto rack train headed west down the Flint sub at Durand behind CN 2196. At 17:30, HESR is backing their train out of the yard and around the Port Huron wye to head north.

17:45: HESR whistling north out of Durand. 251 getting a new crew at the depot. CN 3845 leading.

514 has CN 5413 and CN 5340. 251 waited for them at West Pontiac. CN 3845 and 3840 on 251.

251 was picking up railroad employees at Durand per scanner chatter. Normal crew change is made at Pontiac.

CN 3804 was likely A401. CN 2235 was A491. CN 3884 East was M396.

Busy evening on the MTC.
M384 & M385 met in New Haven.
M385 arriving first in the siding. CN 2992 & 3823 with 104 cars.
M384 moving fast on the main at 20:20. CN 2227 & 2248 with 91 cars.
M384 had to wait south of Mt. Clemens for L533S to finish up their work before proceeding.

A SB container train passed MP 22.5 around 7 am with one CN leading and one in the middle. 116 doesn't usually have a DPU so guessing this it is that occasional "international" train out of Prince Rupert.

Another SB passing MP 22.5 at 8 am. A CN cowl leading an SD75. Mostly autoracks. Short train. Going about 50 mph down the hill in the snow.

Wow Manistique, 3 trains in 3.5 hours - that's very good for the Holly Sub. Your 2 Southbounds at 7 and 8am must have come by me earlier in the morning and I was gone for the Sand Train. Seems that sand train is becoming a bit more regular lately - with maybe 1 or 2 per week? Could be more if they are running at night. Being a 1/4 away, its hard to document everything, not to mention a lot runs at night when I am sleeping.

Do you live right next to the railroad?
