CN Updates- July 2019

I caught 116 at Airport Rd at 2:45 a.m.

There is a SB container train (from the head-end stuff) with three CN's sitting at MP 22.0 on the Holly for the past hour. Maybe waiting for Pontiac Yard to clear. Or the crew died. Must be that morning reroute we have been seeing.

At 9:28 am a SB with CN 2426 cowl leading went past MP 22.5. It had containers on the headend and racks on the rear end so looked like another combined X116/280 like yesterday. Maybe that NB train will head north now.

At 9:35 am Train 515 went SB past MP 22.5. Missed the power.

That parked container train at Bloomfield Hills is on the move NB, passing MP 22.5 at 10 am with CN 3213 leading another CN (only two locomotives and they are doing a good job starting this train from stop on the Hill as it rolls by my house at about 15 mph). Note, it finally cleared at 10:20 am, twenty minutes long and blocking Opdyke Road that time. It was all containers. Amtrak 353 snuck out of Pontiac ahead of it and passed it on Main 1.

The CN 2426 was Q116. Heard overnight that the pilot wasn't qualified south of Pontiac.

Heard 122, 362, 367, 391, and 502 run overnight as well. 367 arrived in Pontiac around 3:15am.

Another container train went SB past MP 22.5 at 12 noon. Missed the power. Last three train here were container trains.

Train 515 was NB returning to Pontiac Yard at 3 pm with 4912 and no unusual cars in its consist today.

Train 514 with the usual 5459 plus a BLE unit today went lite SB past MP 22.5 at 7:10 pm.

GT 5844 just went SB past MP 22.5 at 7:33 pm with a box, a platform car and a tank, in that order. I presume it is Train 513.

SB passing MP 22.5 at 8:40 pm with CN 8826, 8952 and a BNSF. Looks like another reroute as plenty of black carbon cars and truck frames, something we don't see on the Holly.

Tonight's E229 had GTW 4934 (Blue GP38-2) leading.

That was the train X362 that I caught at 12:54 AM this morning.
I saw the truck frames and realized it has been years since I last saw loaded frame flats.

GT 5844 just went SB past MP 22.5 at 7:33 pm with a box, a platform car and a tank, in that order. I presume it is Train 513.

The local opened up and disappeared into the spur that serves a customer on Wanda Street, a little north of 8 Mile. It's back on the main now holding up what I believe is M391.

CN 5459 and BLE 878 went north By the Pontiac Amtrak station at 10:53 p.m.

I neglected this was engines lite. I also now think this was 514.

They went around the High Wye at Durand at 12:23 AM.

I just did an edit to add to that post before I saw this. I am fairly certain the was 514 and on the way back to Flint

371 is making the turn at Durand to head westbound. CN 2933

I caught 127 all intermodal train northbound at Williams Lake Rd at 2:36 AM CN 2891 CN 3119.

As I typed up that last line the dispatcher said there was a train 122 at Durand a Q116 at Shaftsburg and a third at Okemos, All waiting to head down the Holly. also, 391 is still at Pontiac.

That conversation was with a train between Clara and Vernon CN 2863 leading. I am not seeing this train 122 on ATCS.

I caught 391 at Williams Lake Rd at 3:58 AM CN 2309 solo. I had it wrong a bit ago, 122 at Shafts and Q116 at Okemos. 122 will meet 391 there at Durand and swap crews. Then Q116 will follow 122 down to Pontiac.
