Train 515 with 9473 SB past MP 22.5 at 9:25 am, a bit earlier than usual this morning.

Train 371 passing MP 22.5 NB at 2:43 pm with an SD75 leading an SD60 and a UP locomotive. Running out ahead of Amtrak 350 which is running about a half hour late.

And just ten minutes later Train 515 with 9473 is working its way past my house at restricted speed on Main 2 and, just as I type this, Amtrak 350 is passing him on Main 1 so he has a red block ahead of him for Amtrak to cross over to the Pontiac depot. Great mainline action on the Holly Sub.

The action on the Holly Sub south of Pontiac continues with another NB led by CSX 836 and a CN 5700 passing MP 22.5 at 3:17 pm with a unit centerbeam train. Yes, about 60 or so empty centerbeam cars only. That is a first. Maybe going to storage in Pontiac of Flint?

Late last year I saw a couple center beam trains eb by 205. From the outside moves like that seem so strange.

Good news about the centerbeams. Thanks.

Eb by 205 at 0723. Cn 2718 leading a cowl elephant style. I want to say 2411 but I didn't write it down. Racks on the front, tanks and some hoppers on the back.

Train 515 with 9473 returning to Pontiac passing MP 22.5 at 6:10 pm with about 30 or 40 cars, mostly empty centerbeams. The GP40-2 has been the right power for this train lately as it is getting longer and longer.

Apparent bridge collapse or bridge structural issue on the Flint Sub just east of Battle Creek. Amtrak has been cancelled. I would think high priority re routes would take the Amtrak Michigan Line from Battle Creek to Detroit, to the Mt Clemens sub at Milwaukee Jct to Port Huron to re-join the Flint Sub.

I heard the same thing a few hours ago. My information was gt bridge over the battle creek river collapsed with a train on it. I hope that's not the case or if it is that the power made it safely across. Just heard desk 8 calling a X542 with cn 2569 getting talked past a light at Lacey. The best I've gathered its something that was past here (205) earlier they are switching around to haul back east. It's a fresh review as of a couple hours ago. Is there any precedent for a situation like this? Do you think Amtrak might reroute as well?

Amtrak 364 has already been cancelled. So tomorrow’s 365 will be cancelled east of Battle Creek. I think most trains would re route via NS South Bend to Butler, hop on the Wabash and come up to Detroit, then onto the Mt Clemens sub. The only kicker is Q148. Q148 should already be east of South Bend, so their only option might be the Amtrak Michigan Line.

If this happens, would be a cool intermodal train on the Amtrak Michigan Line! Imagine a 10,000 ft intermodal train going through Jackson and Ann Arbor!

Yup, that would be the bridge just east of McAllister Road. The power and the most of the train made it safely across but one autorack did not. Fortunately it was pulled out. I will attach photos once they are done uploading. Rumor as of now (22:35) is that they will attempt to use the other track across the bridge (it did not appear to be as damaged) with a 10 mph speed restriction.

Was the Blue Water consist deadheaded back to Chicago or was it parked in Battle Creek?

A SB freight just went past MP 22.5 at 6:30 am. Maybe a 280 autorack with some mixed in it. So trains are moving out here even with the bridge issue in Battle Creek.
