Just curious if that was the same boxcar on both trips? Perhaps it could only be dropped somewhere on a SBD trip?

It was the same one I saw headed north. GLC only went as far north as Rosebush today. Ithica occasionally gets boxcars, but only occasionally. They usually switch it on the northbound, so the boxcar will come north with them, and turn. I don't know of any other customers along the line that receive boxcars.Todd_F wrote:Just curious if that was the same boxcar on both trips? Perhaps it could only be dropped somewhere on a SBD trip?

The lumber/truss place east of Clare gets an occasional box car although they mostly receive center beams

A decent amount MofW Equipment went south through Mount Pleasant at 1145. This equipment was sitting on the old siding that had passenger cars on it for a while off Pickard Rd.

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates October 2017
I see this done from time to time where a contractor or the RR parks equipment on what appears to be a private siding. Especially sidings that are little use. Do they make arrangements to do this or just shove them in there? One such siding is to a transformer station off Keystone road near Traverse City.csx801 wrote: This equipment was sitting on the old siding that had passenger cars on it for a while off Pickard Rd.

Northbound through Howell passing the depot. 397 and 399. Looks like mostly grain cars. And some LPG cars. Didn't get a count.

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates October 2017
Great Lakes Central just departed Shepherd after building a unit grain train at 2300. They were south through Mount Pleasant at 2130 with the first half of their train from Rosebush. I spent the better part of an hour watching them build their train before they continued south.

398 and 395 left Cadillac for McBain at 1100 with 13 tie loads. Returned at 1255 and switched until around 1440.
Didn't hear or see them at all yesterday.

1225 tying onto their train in Alma at 1000
1340 edit:
South through ithica at 1025. Lots of track work going on here, it appears. Lots of MofW equipment sitting around.
South through Ashley just before 1100
South into Owosso at 1200
1225 turned on the table. 392 shoved the consist back onto the main and ran around.
