Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: May 2017
That's over 50 cement cars in a week (26 last week, 6 earlier this week and 22 today). Or were they returning from Elmira with cement empties?

When the Elmira terminal first opened in the early 1990's it was normal for there to be 20-30 cars on its siding during the busy months.

Lake City Redi-Mix has the cement contract for the very large particle board plant that is being built at the Four Mile rd. exit south of Grayling, also there has been word that Lake City as well has the contract for the cement for the new EJIW foundry west of Elmira. Get ready for a LOT of cement cars for a year or better.

Being built right at M-32 and US-131 intersection about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from GLC mainline. Have heard of no plans to use rail.David Lang wrote:

Thanks KC.
A mile-and-a-half is a long way to build a new piece of track.
It seems like we would have heard something by now then since the project is well underway.
How big of a place is this going to be?

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: May 2017
Well, looking at the map here, it could be possible for a siding coming up North of Deadman's Hill Road, accessing the area from the South.
Measuring it up here, its still a good 3000' to access the area from the south.
(I tried using my snipping tool the copy/paste a snip of google maps, but it didn't work - not sure why).

Leaving Cadillac for Clare at 1115. Should have been taking this on the other side, but wanted to get the Christmas graffiti on the one car.
