Enjoyed seeing the Santa Train in BC on Sunday. Too bad the E unit (IC 101) didn't get to lead, but it still looked cool! This year it was parked on the Kellogg lead under the Emmett St bridge, next to the MOW building, which also got a little decorating! Nice turn-out with many kids young and old enjoying their visit with Santa, and some goodies as well! The Santa train is a cool railroading tradition and I hope that CN (and other RR's that have them) will continue it long into the future.

M396 left Battle Creek at 17:32 and scheduled to be in Sarnia by 01:12..power was 5533 and 5531..U710 out of Joliet at 18:29 and due into Sarnia by 12:39 tomorrow. A pair of BNSF's up front, 5903, 5643 are powering the train.

Went into the siding at Mt Clemens with 2 empty Center beams from Carter lumber and waited for 383 to pass before running around.

Santa Fe warbonnet BNSF 868 poised to leave Battle Creek yard w/b with some autoracks.

IC 1029 and BCOL 4623 also going to head west with a mixed freight.

148 is arriving at Port Huron, although still down by Tappan. Also sounds like 529 maybe wying its power in Sarnia. Someone was running light power around the wye to return to PH.

For the Flint Sub, CN 5744? is on the point of a westbound.

Also, CN 2412 is leading 148, and is clear of Customs, so it'll probably be on the move soon. CN 2588 and 5686 are also in 148. Nice to see zebra stripes leading, despite the weather.


148 also has a depressed center flat car with generator in its train.

Yes, both are "Blue" still! I saw this train Southbound through Fraser at 2:27 p.m. It had 14 loaded "Well Car" sets! It was led by GP38-2 #4920 and GP9r #4622.
Earlier at 10:55 a.m. I saw Southbound train 383 with 77 cars. It had CN SD75I #5736 and SD60 #5488. Both these trains were going slower than normal!

Edit: I saw 529 back into Moterm at 5:30 p.m. It had more loaded "Well Car" sets and three Tank Cars! Later, I saw 529 again!!!! It was Northbound crossing 10 Mile Road in Warren at 7:45 p.m. It was led by GP9r #4622 and GP38-2 #4920 with 13 empty "Well Car" sets!

This is really late, but as a followup to yesterday's 529, today's had CN 5431 running long hood forward south out of Port Huron. I also noted a couple of CN's gray/black/green containers in the train today.
