CSX picked up at the GRE, doesn't look like they delivered. GDLK outbounds still there. 371 power right behind the yard office (blocking the view of the number)

Sounds like 371 is having an issue with the lead unit, so they are going to turn the train around after picking up the passengers in GR.

D707 was eastbound at Fox at about 1130. Late start due to either no engineers being available or just a late call for one. Conductor was on duty at 0700.

15:12 EST: Z151 sitting at SAS Fuller. Looks like the same power arrangement as yesterday.
15:32 EST: Z151 still there. GRE maintainers blowing out switches in the GRE yard.
15:36 EST: Q326 restricting Lamar. Sounds like the signals are up and running.

That's different! I wonder if they will bring it south to Turner then put a CSX crew on it and head right to Toledo? Huh.

15:50 EST: Someone just got an EC1 for all tracks at Lamar.
16:00 EST: Someone just wiped out with their car and took out one of the Amtrak signs off Wealthy Street. In other news, the billboards on that hill are gone...#unobstructedview
16:19 EST: Z151 still at Fuller...

Uhh, no. It has to inspected by the car department per FRA rules and I doubt if they wanna give up there power to CSX, they may never see it again if they did. CSX is scrambling for engines..or maybe you noticed. CN/BNSF...I'm looking for PC SD45-2's one of these days.
1,000 mile or something else? Is there an interchange rule?

Another very late Q335 was by Howell @20:00 with BNSF 4503 and CSX 8716. Perhaps they'll get to Fox before Q334 gets their second cut of cars over there after having to double tonight.

No Q326 out of Barr tonight, either. Mother nature strikes again!

Anyone want to take bets on whether or not P371 will be late in the morning?

Last time the train was on-time (no more than 15 minutes late for this) was before Julie can remember. Everyday since 12/6 they've run late on P371. P370 is running 16 minutes late tonight based on the estimated time into GRR. This is getting depressing.

I'll be a pessimist, and say that 371 will run late tomorrow. It might give them a shot to be on-time.

AMTK 195 leading, about 20 minutes out of St. Joseph.
I've observed P370 runs more on time in the winter than in the summer. I've noticed this because the sun sets around 9:25pm in June, P370 is scheduled to arrive at 7:38pm, and often arrives after dark in June, while most times I am in St. Joe when the train is scheduled to arrive after dark, it is on time. :x

This year is the first time in 18 years that the midwest has experienced sub-zero temps this early in the season.

Think they (Q335) passed through Woodbury at about 10:00 pm. I heard a train about then.

I heard another train pass through Woodbury just after Midnight. Probably the Q334

Its 3000 miles for unit (continuously cycled) trains before you have to do a Class 1. There are other factors that require you to do one, if the train is left off air more than 4 hours a class one needs to be done if it moves more than 20 miles is to be traveled). There are still other brake tests you have to do if you change power, set out and pickup previously tested blocks so on and so forth. Initial terminal of the train requires a Class 1, hence at CSX since that is the initial terminal for the train on CSX they will need to do one. There is a big part of the rule book to about air tests and when to do and when to not to do one.
