Looks quiet at the GRE. CSX didn't pick up the outbound over the weekend so no inbound.

#36 was pulling Amtrak...no sign of Superlliners yet

The rail grinding train is in the siding in Zeeland. Looks as if he will be heading out soon.

i think the grinder will be there till sometime tonight.
they went west grinding rail to just east of west waverly, will con't to grind tonight. they stopped at 445am
this morning ( by east waverly at 430am, yellow glow of the grinding against the dark and new snow was
a sight to see, didn't get any pictures as camara not working ), when they start tonight the curve between
waverly and holland will be a 3 pass grind per track foreman. perhaps doc can find a call time for the
grinder tonight?

That grinder is quite the sight to see, eh? Got a heads up from Trussells and Glenn...headed out to watch them last night grinding from Seymour to near Godfrey on #1 track, doing most of the curves 2-3 passes. Then reversed back to Seymour, and started in on #2...got held up at Pleasant St for more than an hour for Q327, Q326, and Amtrak, but got late so I headed off after Amtrak.

Per the online scanner,

GRMS? - 2 east at Seymour running as W002. Not grinding from what i can tell. Heard them last night around 7:30 ish, and they did "call" signals, like track inspectors do. I'm hoping they come back west tonight or tomorrow. Supposed to go to Porter per CSXDISPATCHER's post on another thread.

UPDATE...talked to a guy working on the rail grinding train. He says they will be heading out about 6-7 PM.
Got a few shots in the day light, hope to get some tonight in the dark (what a nasty looking train....)

i believe the w002 was the csx track geom. car - it was going eb over the patterson ave bridge at fox. i had just turned onto paterson after a stop at the airport approx 1125am, give or take a some time.

Here's my lunch time report - we saw Q327-16's power at the Holland Depot - CSX 436, 168. They moved east at 11:40.

At 11:46 Q326-17 went by the depot with CSX 7849 leading - couldn't catch the number of the second unit - too much snow!!!

Thanks for the info on the rail grinding train, probably will swing by after work at 6 to see if it's moving out of Zeeland..just in the siding at Zeeland somewhere near Zeeland Lumber?

Circus train departed Stanley about 2:30PM heading for Perrysburg and Deshler on the Toledo Sub. They made a quick transit of Toledo only stopping at E. Broadway for a crew change (@20min or so).

3:35 PM-D709-17 eastbound at Michigan Avenue with approximately 20 double-decker Metra passenger cars. Get them while you can!

Going to the GLC as usual. GLC owner Federated Railways buys them up and stores them until they sell them I guess.

Both good and bad day here in North Yard. First we had Q272 with CSX 8866 and CSX 8043 (With Conrail door on it) with no autoracks, but a good sized train (Q304's cars were on it). D745 came into East Yard with CSX 2643 and 1 autorack, then went up to North Yard. Then D745 left North Yard with 6 autoracks and 5 boxcars. D716 waited out for Q216. D716 had CSX 2756 and 8 cars for the Home Depot Distribution Center.Q216 passed which was a sad consist of 3 racks and 6 mixed with CSX 7780 and CSX 304. At the same time that D716 depared, D739 came down from Wixom a large cut of tanker cars, they look like they were possibly yanked out of storage in Wixom because they were coated in lots of snow. Y107 came out 2 boxcars from the packaging company at Sheldon road with CSX 1177. The biggest suprise out of all of this was that I was D717's power ( CSX ES44DC) still sitting in North Yard when it should of left for Detroit late this morning. D717 never left because they didn't have a conductor for it. Q327 as of 3:30pm did not depart Detroit yet.
