L303-03 @ 12:55/1:10 talked to Dispatcher and went into Emergency after a pull apart in Grand Rapids Terminal.

L303-03 @ 13:09 told Dispatch they moved 15 feet & had gone into Emergency inside the Grand Rapids Terminal. Y197 crew is assisting them to find the pull apart. L303 has a 10,957 ton train today.

At 13:30 their air is pumping up & will then move eastward to Godfrey mp CG 0.99 to make sure all is ok & then the conductor will be taken up to the engine.

At 13:53, L303 on the move eastward & reported from Madison mp CH149.7

L301-03 @ 14:03 westward cleared the Holland Depot mp CG25.3 w/ CSX engine #4384 & looked to be 18 cars.

L303-03 @ 14:03 reported stopped at mp CH148.7 with his 2nd engine cutting in & out. They're calling the Mechanical Dept. He has CSX engines #69 + #4008 & 140 cars.

L303-03 @ 14:19 reporting they're stopped almost to Seymour mp CH148.1 & found burnt out #2 & #4 traction motors on the CSX #4008. They're going to need another engine.

L301-03 @ 14:32 westward reported by DD mp CG44.2 with 78 axles (18 cars).

L303-03 @ 14:43 called the Dispatcher saying they are to back their train from Seymour to the Grand Rapids Terminal & cut some tonnage off of their train & then head eastward to Lansing. The CSX #69 is rated for 7,850 tons.

L303-03 update at this time: he's still inside the Grand Rapids Terminal & sounded like they're to cut 44 cars from their 140 car train. No mention of a 2nd engine replacement was made.

I don’t believe there is an engine they can swap with available

I don’t believe there is an engine they can swap with available

Unless they take one from the helper set for the coal trains I highly doubt there is suitable power in the yard. They tend to keep the yard stocked with power as needed. No real room for engine failures

Assuming #4008 is still in his consist, though that wasn’t mentioned in his 2nd job briefing after 44 cars were cut away, nor, was there mention of an engine replacement. Axle math doesn’t work for having a single engine.

L303-03 @ 17:50 copied his EC1 for Lake Odessa to to the east end switch Grand Ledge mp CH97.8 due to, I believe, is L305 working in Lansing (will double check the scanner archives when that time slot becomes available).

L303-03 @ 18:29 eastward reported by the DD mp CH104.3 Mulliken, Mi with 396 axles & 5,569 feet long. CSX engine #69 + #4008 (dead in tow) & 96 cars. He has work in Lansing & will be re-crewed there. He will also be waiting at the east end of Grand Ledge for L302 to finish their work in Lansing.
