Hello everybody I’m GRHC and normally I post on the CSX thread however today I ventured over here and I couldn’t help notice AARR‘s post and I thought this can be a teaching moment. AARR if you see a train that is parked in a yard that means it’s not moving therefore it is not traveling in any direction. This is most likely the reason why you could not tell which direction it was heading. 😉

FYI: occasional viewer of this thread first time poster lol

507 flying past MP 22.5 at 50 mph at 5:25 pm, oblivious to Amtrak 355 departure from Pontiac involving a crossover in front of him.

Wait, he is coming to a halt. Lo, he has stopped out back now, the slack coming out rolling the train down the hill until, BAM, it runs out. Nice try 507 but Amtrak wins tonight.

Main 1 signal at Opdyke is yellow over flashing green for a NB train coming. First time I ever saw this. Didn't know the lower signal even could give green. Seen yellow over flashing red for NB Amtraks since they changed the signal system but never this one. Anyone know what it means? We will see what train it is, either NB 515 or 251, but won't be able to tell how it is routed.

It was 251, which is passing now at 11:48 am with two 8900's elephant style.

NB 515 went past MP 22.5 at 12:30 pm with a dozen empty centerbeams, ten or so boxcars and about a dozen gondolas that all looked to be empty. I have no idea where the empty centerbeams are coming from as none seem to be going south on it lately. Maybe from the Conrail interchange?

L533 departed Chesterfield for Port Huron on the MTC at 09:45.

L515 (CN 5466) departed Mount Clemens at 10:30 for Nolan with 31 cars. Will set off a long cut of loaded centerbeams at Nolan Distribution and pick up equal number of empties for Pontiac. Empty boxes from Chrysler in MC, several empty tie gons and two loads from GLR scrap in Roseville.

M382 by Mount Clemens depot at 12:20. CN/CN.

M383 by South Mount at 13:08. CN/CN/CN (2x1) with 167 cars.
