Why do you call it J303?

Because that’s the train symbol/ID? Similar to how I report Grank Elk Z439 / Z739 and MQT Z151. J is short for Job

Am I wrong about the train ID if it’s on Grand Elk trackage ? It’s not on CSX

I usually just call it 303. Was just wondering what the ‘J’ stood for.

Grand elk woot woot vehicle south through Byron Center around 5:45pm per wifey. Can only guess it was indeed symbol 303.

CSX local (297?) appears to have dropped off around 20 hoppers in 2 locations at Ann St. GRE should run east tomorrow.

Northbound CSX/Lake State Grain Train thru Holly this morning at 5:50am on the way to work.

Single CSX locomotive and 90 cars.

Not sure if he was stopping in Flint or not, but he might be long gone by now.

Grand Elk rolling north through Wyoming 54th St area at 12:33pm.

MQT tied down short of the 112th street crossing in Grant with 3406, 2040, 3408 and 3391. Looks to be a sizeable train too.

Grand elk south through Byron Center at 2:24pm. Wamx 4209, 4189 and 27 cars, mostly boxcars and tank cars, few covered hoppers and an open gon on the end.
