Overnight, a B23517 ran over the B&O from Chicago to Walbridge, final destination of Webberville. Potash train off the CP with a CP leader and a UP DPU on the bottom.

From what I saw on the Deshler Cam at 3:52 am, B235-17 had CP #8945 leading with 90 ish potash cars and rear GE UP #8180 DPU. Hopefully someone can catch the numbers in daylight today

You're correct. CP 8945 and UP 8180 was the DPU.

B235-17 had 85 cars. Counted them twice. Rear unit UP8180 was facing forward. Actually found it myself from the Deshler Log before it was posted above here earlier. Deshler chat originally said the UP DPU unit was 8580 until it was corrected by someone who saw the train earlier and said it was 8180. Even under the cover of darkness CP 8945 on the lead showed up quite well with its reflectorized number because it was clean. Despite the larger numbers on the UP unit, it had more dirt on it.

L302-18 between 14:02/14:32 Detroit heard telling Rouge Tower they need to spin their engines. Sounds like CSX engine #999 will be leading & CSX #3284 will trail, these engines had gone to Detroit on Dec 15th's L303.

15:12 - L303 thru WE Brighton with 11 cars behind 3446 and 7228.
15:17 - Track crew exiting the siding at WE Brighton, they have clearance all the way to WE Williamston, sounded like until 16:30.
At Ann Pere today, L305 pulled east of the diamond and added 32 cars to a 29 car cut in the siding. Nothing was taken from the transfer.

CSX M506 passed the Deshler PTZ Cam at 17:42 on the SẼ Wye with a CSX GE GEVO leading following by a CSX EMD, unknown 3rd loco (assuming it was a CP engine since I saw the red paint) with lit #’s on the rear end, and supposedly CSX #9969 in 4th with 141 cars in consist

Edit on 12/19: Deshler cam states this was M506 to Walbridge, OH and not M510

User “Working_Ad_2769” posted the following on Reddit (r/Amtrak):

Well, of all 4 trains I've taken (including the one I'm currently on), it wasn't the Texas Eagle that was the problem child. I've been currently delayed by over an hour just east of Chicago in Indiana because of a mechanical issue on the train taking me home to Michigan. So. Current situation is that the mechanical team has driven out from Chicago to fix this brake they're having issue with and to either successfully fix it or transfer us to buses they have been thus far unable to secure. If I get transferred to a bus, I'll update. If this train gets moving again, I'll update. I'll also update with whatever the conductor puts out over the intercom. Wish me luck.
