CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 7-8-08

Unread post by Raildudes dad »

Looks quiet again today at the GRE. Same 371 consist. CSX picked up the outbound hopper but doesn't appear to have left anything. The NS outbound is still there. Sounded like Z151 a little after 5AM this morning - nope I didn't get up to go look :)

So your timetable will tell you where Elmdale is in relation to Lansing BETTER than a map?

Timetable shows the exact number of rail-miles it is from Lansing to Elmdale, so in that respect, it's better than a map :)

Then again, the previous posts show:
CP X74108 - LANSING MI CH 87 07-08-2008 09:25
CP X74108 - ELMDALE MI CH 130 07-08-2008 10:46
So that's 130-87 = 43 miles of travel.

He asked WHERE in relation it was, not how far. Hence, NOT better than a map. :P

Crank up the online GR scanner feed, it'll tell ya when they are putting it back together and ready to go: http://www.railroadfan.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7457

Or you might be at work like me and not able to listen in..but feel free to do so at home! :)

Steve, I just drove by there and it's still split and crew-less. I'm listening to the scanner now and will post when I hear some activity regarding this train. I plan on getting pics of it somewhere as long as they leave in the next couple of hours.

On the drive home, Gregg mentioned that K908 was dropping off it's stone in Lansing, then taking it's power to Webberville to grab a loaded grain train.
D70808 was working the grain elevator in Grand Ledge.

Amtrak P37008 hasn't clocked by Porter yet, so they are at least 30 mins behind.
