CSX Train Location Updates - July 2023

Not sure if this was noted recently but CSX is now delivering cars to the elevator in Harlem again, just south of West Olive. No doubt this has to do with the ongoing service disruption on the Hamilton Northwestern. Neat to see Y121 going this far north again.

Y121 hasn’t been to Zeeland in almost a week. Two emptied covered hoppers continue to linger for pickup at Van den Bosch feeds: ATW 87220, CFWR 810079 (ex CNW). A lumber load has been at Zeeland Lumber for at least this long but hasn’t been unloaded, I’m not sure if they’re all on extended vacation or what’s going on. Plastcore siding is empty.

On a non-geographically related note, there was an empty centerbeam at MPC Cashway Lumber in Lansing, yesterday.

08:45, Y121 is backing into the Fremont Sub at East Leg Wye, Holland, with their caboose, 1 lumber load, 3 covered hoppers, 3 boxcars, and CSXT 6045. They’re coming your way, Tlout! The lumber load is probably for De Leewu. I wonder where the covered hoppers are heading?

Note: Y121 brought the covered hoppers to the Endeavor Ag facility in North Haarlem on the Fremont Sub. I don’t get up there very often, but these are the first cars I’ve seen at this facility in a couple years.

Yep - I had heard that CSX would be handling Endeavor Ag again. Maybe it'll be more like the good old days when the "Cannon Ball" used to run north almost every day...
