Peaker is for heavy repair/modifications that the railroads farm out to 3rd parties, like installing the DPU equipment into locomotives. Most repairs on CSX-owned locomotives are done at CSX shops. As for why they sent out a dead in tow locomotive...they do that all the time. Easier to say "here take this and go" than setting it out, most of the time.

Thank you for this information, the Dead in Tow CSX #3198 being the middle of the 3 engines on yesterday's Q326-03 is going back on today's Q327-04 in the same position.

...to continue on the report on D706 and possibly D705, WAS WE Brighton displaying a clear aspect as of 16:34.
I heard dispatch telling D706 "they'll be a while" but I'm not sure if dispatch was referring to D705 or a signal maintainer.
My car count for D706 was one off according to Sparrow24. 5220 and 5452 leading.
