River Rouge Power Plant. It appears CN has the contact back from NS. Until the plant shuta down in a few years.

So does the CN coal train come up from the NS in Toledo, then up the Shoreline Sub, or from Chicago onto the CN via the SouthBend / Flint / Holly Sub?

Train 515 with 9473 was NB returning to Pontiac at around 6 pm.

A light locomotive just drifted south past MP 22.5 at 7:22 pm. Maybe a 513.

Did not see 371 today. Did it run and I miss it?

That would be SD70MAC 9620, one of a few Executive SD70MACs with the swoosh logo.

Train 391 went NB past MP 22.5 around 9:30 pm with a UP unit leading a CN, crawling up the hill with a long train.

I caught what I believe to be 502 at Williams Lake Rd at 9:41 PM. CN 2815, CN 3115.

As I sat down to post about 502 a northbound set off the hot box detector at 34.2. My guess is that this was 391, they cleared the detector at 10:11 PM. 527 axels.

Edit to add:

NB cleared the detector MP 59.9 at 10:53 PM. this detector said 528 axels.

GTW 4912 (Blue GP38-2) is currently in Pontiac Yard as of 2208, next to a parked L502, which has CN 2815 (ES44AC) and CN 3115 (ET44AC).

I can explain what happened to 371.

371 had UP 6026 and CN 2413 coming up from Flat Rock. The CN 2413 had mechanical issues coming off the Shared Assets in Detroit, and the train was stopped at Woodward Avenue for a good length of time.

They got the train fixed up enough to move it up to Hilton Road in Ferndale where the CN 2413 was setout at Moterm. The CN 9473 was brought back down from Pontiac, and became the second unit on the train. I ended up seeing them in Royal Oak at 8:58pm.

After reading GTW6401 post above this one I believe that the northbound I heard earlier was 371.

Thanks. The second unit did look kind of short on 371 and I was wondering what it was (too dark out by then to see). And then around 10:30 another NB went through and I figured it was 391 and the earlier one was a late 371.

Last night I thought I heard a lite engine go north past my house at some point before midnight. Then around 3 am thought I heard a light engine go south. Maybe just dreaming (I do dream of trains) but maybe we had two 513's working the Holly south of Pontiac last night? The trains are so regular around here lately that any change wakes me up.
