104 was also heading south from Moterm after 767 was past there. They had the GTW 4914 and 31 cars headed for East Yard.
31 cars seems like a big train for 104. Any idea why so many and where they were from?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Thanks for the tip - watched them work at Pontiac from 17:45-18:30. CN 8816 in front of 2256? (from memory)

At 20:30 or so the signals at Andersonville indicated a SB was on its way, but I couldn't hang around.

I didn't catch the numbers but I thought the SD70M-2 was on the front.

A southbound mixed freight just came through Yellow Cab at 1:30AM. The train had and single GTW SD40-2 and seems quite along, although it is too dark to see the train.

EDIT: Looking at video footage I took it appears now to be the coal drag.

It was 766, a loaded coal train with BNSF units going to Lang Yard in Toledo.

Also saw 383 today at Milwaukee Junction with the 8835 and 8816. 1:15pm.

384 got their track warrant to head towards Haven around 10:30pm - 2441 leading.

I forgot the train number, but it runs 391's intermodal cars occasionally.

It was trains 491 and 104 that went north to Pontiac today. 104 followed them up with intermodal cars for Pontiac because 491's crew got up to Pontiac with about 10 minutes to spare before dying. The BC bound crew then did the pickup and set-out at Pontiac and went north around 8pm and met Train 540 in the siding at Andersonville.

From the chatter I was hearing on the radio is that 540 took a coal train to Lansing, went over to Durand and made a pickup there and were getting cabbed back to Battle Creek from Pontiac.

CN 491 - CN 2249 and 5678
CN 104 - GTW 4918
CN 540 - BNSF 8932 and 8804

Amtrak 350/355 - 90200 and 29
Amtrak 352 - 127 and 90218.

Something must be switching Red Lava and TTX in Waterford, as cars are coming and going. I saw them finish up at TTX once, but they did not call out a train number. Could be a yard job, I guess.

Edit: The BNSF units are still in the Pontiac service area this AM. Nice to see more than one unit there.

Train 491 went through Royal Oak just before 4pm. Saw the tail end cross over 12 Mile while working on getting errands done.

-Mt Clemens Sub local 101 crossed 8 mile at 4:20pm northbound . Only saw the second half, dont know what the power was. They had the old caboose in the middle of the consist. They went into the siding north of 8 mile. We only saw the second half and they had lots of boxcars some hi cube ( 99% positive hi cube ). It was kind of long so they may be going up to work the Aluminum distribution center in Mt Clemens with all the boxcars.

July 31, 2009

I managed to see a few CN and Amtrak related movements along the way today. First was train 382, which met Amtrak 355 in front of the depot at Woodward Avenue at 6:20pm. 144 was following 382 up the Shoreline and Mount Clemens Subdivisions all the way to Tappan. 383 was pulling up to Milwaukee Junction just before those trains were getting track warrants and proceeded south after Amtrak 352 made it onto the Holly Sub.

385 was pulling past Woodward Avenue at 12:15am while 384 was getting a track warrant at East Yard.

144 - 5689
382 - 2671, 2551
383 - 2609, 5556
384 - 8825 leading.
385 - 8835, 8818

AMTK 350/355 - 27 and 37
AMTK 352 - 26 leading.
AMTK 354 - 31 and 90222

GTW 4914 and 5854 were the power on the locals today out of East Yard.

There will be a couple northbounders on the Mt. Clemens Sub in the next hour or two as 144 and 384 are just coming up to East Yard as I type this. Local 104 is also working around MP13 with the GTW 5854.

382 received their track warrant at 16:38 to proceed north. CN 5625 leading.
