Need a lens with some real reach? LOL
The range translates into an equivalent 75-750mm when used with digital SLR cameras with an APS size chip.

Sure, it may reach 750mm.... but 750mm @ f/6.3 is pretty slow which means you're slowing down the shutter speed to let the proper amount of light in. Might be okay if all you use it for is bright sunny days and ISO 50 or 100.

It's a decent lens. A friend of mine uses one. f/6.3 isn't as much of an issue anymore with digital SLRs making ISO 200 and 400 look good.

My 200-400mm is 320-640mm! It's good on sunny days.

Looking a the sharpness chart at SLRgear coke bottle bottoms would give better sharpness unless used at f8 @ 195mm.

Screw it, if I need that much zoom I'm just gonna call up LensRentals.com and rent the Canon 800mm f/5.6 IS. It's only $340.75 for a 4 day rental including shipping

The sharpness at 400mm on my lens is kinda bad, so I try to keep it around f/8 and bump up the ISO.
