Atlas locomotive

Unread post by Mr.Michigan Shore »

I recently bought an Atlas Ho scale SD35, DC model and it runs perfectly fine and well in reverse but in forward in is very choppy and jerky. I have cleaned the track multiple times as well as the locomotive's wheels. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks!

Clean and oil the gears and see if that helps

I had a N-Scale KATO SD70Ace that had a similar issue. Found out that a piece of ballast had gotten into the rear truck and was only effecting the gears in reserve. Forward it would not catch in the gears. Got the ballast out and then it ran fine.
