Marion,Oh Model Meet

Unread post by sandpatch1 »

That time again. The Marion RPM meet. cheaper than a NMRA convention and more trains going by the lectures than you can count. This is really a laid back easy going way to spend time talking trains. You will leave knowing more than you ever thought as the people are really there to help you build, model and enjoy train more.
Folks, this is the last call for the 2018 Central Ohio RPM, also known as CORPM.

This years event is planned for April 26-28 at Marion Union Station, Marion, Ohio. Hours are as follows. 4/26, set up day, 12noon until done. Fanning and dinner later. Slide/movie show until folks cant take it any longer. Friday 9AM-5PM and then dinner. Slide/movies after dinner. Saturday, 9AM-4pm. Cleanup 4PM-5PM, Cookout, 5PM-7PM and then a slide/movie show. This usually doesn't last too long as most folks are worn out and ready to call it a meet.

This meet features the usual RPM fare, model displays, clinics, door prizes, historical societies, meet closing cookout and fellowship and Robin L Blake, THE WARDEN. There is NO DOUBT that my bride is UNIQUE. We also feature PROTOTYPE trains right outside of our venue, Marion Union Station. Also on the grounds are AC tower, open during the meet and a EL bay window caboose and the Marion Model Railroad Clubs layout. There are also numerous historic displays inside of the depot. All this adds up to a very unique venue for OUR meet.

Most RPMs to not encourage ProtoFreelancers to display their models as they are not Prototype Railroads. We have a different opinion as many of these folks, such as Allen Whitaker, are OUTSTANDING modelers and their railroads are based on prototype practices. We encourage these freelancers to present their models at our meet and to share their modeling practices and techniques with us.

Cost is only $20.00 for the weekend plus an extra $6.00 for the cookout. You wont find a better bargain for a meet of this caliber.

There are numerous lodging opportunities East of the meet at Routes 23&95. We don't have a meet hotel because folks have different tastes in what they want or need from a hotel.

Please feel free to spread this around to other groups that you may belong to. Any publicity is good for the meet.
