Getting reports of a train vs semi wreck with derailment in Morenci. Got it from Facebook but sounds like a small fire and a diesel spill. Not sure which rail company but I believe that's NS? Anyone hear anymore?

Just went to Munger Rd crossing and the signals there showing yellow over green aspect. Sitting near Milford Rd now but still nothing.

Northbound grain train coming through Howell. Couldn't see the numbers but 2 units leading.

Southbound thru Howell. 380 and 385. Not many cars though.

Just saw RJ Corman trucks heading towards 96 on M-59. Guessing their work is done. Will try to get over there and take a look.

They now started moving west but the conductor is out looking for something as the train passes by him. Not sure what he's looking for.

WB sitting in the siding here at Fowlerville. 5120 is the lead with 787. Seen the local heading EB but lost sight. Currently the crossing gates are down at the Grand Ave crossing which has traffic screwed up.

The engineer told me he was doing 33mph accelerating to track speed when the accident occurred.

We drove by there last night around 8pm before signing off for the day. RJ Corman has a bunch of trucks there ready to go. Very little activity as it was still raining pretty good so my guess is they'll wait until daylight before starting any work.

We just drove past there and still no activity. No sign of clean up crew. Sheriff Dept. has a unit blocking off the two track at Oak Grove that accesses the cell tower. The engine already departed north.

Update...it's NS9458.

I was the responding EMS crew for this incident. Per the engineer he felt the train tugging and it went into emergency. Sounds like a broken rail. About 25 empty grain cars on the ground and in the trees. All headed for Middleton. Has an NS engine solo. Crew is gonna break off the rest and continue ...

Northbound sitting in the siding at Clyde with 4065 on point and 7787. Currently sitting just south of the crossing at Wardlow Rd.

EB through Howell and past me here in Genoa Township. Looked like a Contain marked unit 2nd of the 3 but didn't have a great view.
