New CSX Train Q266

All this past week, a new CSX train, Q266, has been running west from Rougemere to Plymouth, then south to Ohio, working at New Boston on the way. Anyone know where this train goes, and if it is just autoracks or has other freight? Also this Q266 seems to be leaving in the morning in place of the Q2...

Re: Amtrak Train Location Updates 2020

Listening to the Detroit Broadcastify scanner archives, sounds like a special Amtrak train ran west down the Michigan Line early Saturday morning, departing CP 9 (that's near Townline, isn't it?) at about 2:30 AM and heading for CP 142. The symbol was 933.

Re: CN Updates - January 2020

DS is talking (yes, I have my scanner on for the first time in years) to a Train 765 in Pontiac at 10:30 am. So we will maybe see if that is the Sand Train like I suspect is its number (though that is a NB number and I may not see it go by, though doesn't seem to make any difference anymore as to d...

Re: CN Updates - January 2020

Early mornings have been busy on the Holly south of Pontiac these last two days. Both yesterday and today four trains passed between 3 and 5 am. Two SB's and two NB's. I presume one NB was 371 (is that the number for the train out of Toledo?) and then an hour or so later its old SB counterpart 502 ...

Re: CN Updates - January 2020

Sounds like L533 has to go into a siding that the dispatcher has to unlock, so M385 can get by.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates: January, 2020.

E801-10 ran last night from 7 Mile toward Walbridge.
Also there was a Q266-11 at Rougemere this morning. Unfamiliar with this train.

Re: NYC-PM connection

Has CSX ever given thought to running their Canadian interchange traffic in one train directly to Toledo or GR, bypassing Rougemere altogether? JG Which train would that be? As of July, it was CP running T-21/T-20 from Windsor to Rougemere and back. A T21/T20 was working Rougemere this morning, aft...

Re: NYC-PM connection

The connection is currently regularly used by Q150, Q151, CP 234 and 235, and Conrail local jobs from Livernois Yard that work the Highland Park Industrial Track and the remnant of the Terminal West, where Dearborn Steel is.

Re: Lincoln Secondary

Up. Another thread mentioned that CP Lou is used "almost daily by Q131 and Q132." Both of these trains I've typically seen in the past on the Lincoln Secondary. I know Q150 and Q151 now work Oak Yard so they no longer use the Lincoln Secondary, but is it absolutely true that Q131 and Q132 now go ex...

Re: Conrail Updates - 2020

Sure that's not RR2? The only job with Trenton in the name that I'm aware of is TR3, which works BASF and other industries on the Detroit Line south of River Rouge Yard. But my Conrail knowledge is incomplete and may be out of date!

Turned south at Durand at 21:07. Read on Facebook this was an intermodal extra Q198 for Moterm.

Re: CN Updates- November 2019

Jason / Others, Question - I also really like your ATCS display as well. I just heard the dispatcher talk to 514 coming out of Flint (this is our intermodal train from Moterm to Flint and return), and now looking at your ATCS display, the route is now green from the Flint sub to the Holly Sub, whic...

Re: Lincoln Secondary

The south end is at Carleton, but the north end is at Ecorse Junction, where there trains can proceed to/from the NS Detroit District (old Wabash line, just west of NS Bridge) or to/from the Conrail Junction Yard Running Track, which runs from the Detroit Line (at YD in River Rouge) to the Michigan ...

Re: Lincoln Secondary

Besides the intermodal trains that Ken mentioned, Conrail switches the industries on the Lincoln Secondary. To the best of my knowledge this is Monday-Friday. A train called RR-3 (used to be RR-23) will work south during the first shift, and come back as RR-32 during the second shift. When they talk...

Re: NS Updates: September 2019

Just wanted to pass along to the board the news that there is a new SB train in Southeast Michigan: NS 333. I believe it first ran yesterday, September 24. It originates in Sterling Heights and makes it way south to Ohio via the Detroit Line, much like 31M. To the best of my knowledge 31M still runs...

q32625 east by Bangor MI at 12:21pm, CSXT 409 leading another CSX loco, 108 cars. From scanner feed, just heard that CSX D702 is now called CSX Q387. Can anyone confirm? If true, are there other symbol changes that affect Michigan trains? D701/D702 appear to be toast. Last ran on the 22nd. Q386 sta...

Re: NS Updates: September 2019

From scanner feed at 18:15, NS B20, which is currently working the Primary Lead to the Port of Monroe, was informed that they will have permission to subsequently go down the Ford Lead (in Monroe) to work "National", which I believe means National Galvanizing on Telb St.
