The Williamsburg branch is intact as it completes a run around siding with a lead track beyond the last switch. There is also a small transload building on the runaround track that TSBY last served a short time for potato loading into insulated box cars. Currently owned by a farmers group. google a...

using topo maps for elevation and google maps to measure distance, i get about 1.5% westbound up to gratiot.
steep but manageable considering it's an industrial spur and it would be empties heading uphill.
edit: the steep grade is also very short.

long time ago there was a bank of 6 payphones next to the curb in the d.
all nearby businesses and homes were slightly uninhabitable.
bus aide who lived in the d couldn't figure out why.
drug dealing in the days before portable devices.

Not only did the Hamilton Northwestern run they may have brought in 3 covered hoppers for the Endeavor facility in Hamilton Michigan.
