I prefer faster drying paste as well.

Getting a new service established in 5 years, even a massively in demand one, would be a miracle. The consultants and bureaucrats gotta have their swing at it first.

I noted today that #365 had a P42, #60 IIRC, on the rear. Gotta love the 25+ year old battle wagons backing up 5 year old power

W00303 is scheduled to run from GR to Detroit on 1-3. Typically on duty around 0700, but will have to put consist together and spin train to head east.
Don't they typically make the trip up to Fuller Jct as well?

L302-02 by Howell at 17:30 with 889 + 3433 on the head end and around 25 cars. No typo on the engine numbers tonight.
Approaching Fowlerville, as seen from I-96. Just enough light left to notice them.

The FRA accepts applications on restricted service for cars over 50 years old. Based on the car type and service, they will issue waivers with specific requirements to the car owner to continue to use them. One of the standard requirements is the “R”, usually accompanied with “-age”. Typically they ...

They don’t seem to have a super high out of service rate to me, especially considering the age of some of their locomotives. Things break, so long as they have enough to...
