Anyone know what happened to #355 tonight? It left Royal Oak 3 minutes late but arrived Detroit 3 hours late. It just left Dearborn at 9:37 PM.

As far as we can determine, only 350 and 355 regularly have Chargers. Each train has a Charger at each end. We have yet to see a Chicago-Pontiac job with only one Charger.

Amtrak's Fiscal Year 2018 Sustainability Report had this little gem buried on page 3: Amtrak put 134 miles of PTC (ITCS) in service on Michigan East on April 12, 2019. I do not recall seeing an exact date before on any of these sites. Could help explain why timekeeping has been abysmal of late.

Why don't we wait for a preliminary cause to be revealed? The speculation concerning the DPU is just that, speculation. Amtrak #350/355 today ran with Chargers on each end.

Something happened to #350 between Michigan City and New Buffalo. They lost an hour. Can't find any reports.

A job that came west out of Detroit was sitting east of Haggerty Road with what I believe was the 740 leading. Last 7 or 8 cars blocked Eckles Road for at least an hour. Possibly going north to LSRC?

WB Work Train with NS7527 + CN unit by Salem at 1225. Loaded Herzog ballast cars. It will talk to M of W at South Lyon.

Private cars might be Charter Wire cars which were in Ann Arbor for a time. With Amtrak's new restrictive handling policy, it won't pick up cars at previous usual locations unless they are on a list so as not to delay trains enroute. Freight railroads will spot and pick up such cars and forward them...

Other Amtrak's also late on Saturday. Amtrak #370 on 05/18 left Chicago 1'59" late, #354 53" late, and #364 2'43" late. Some type of disruption at CUS.

D737 South passed 7 Mile 10:18PM. Didn't catch engine number.

Test train with 4616 leading with 4604 trailing. In between an Amfleet, three baggage cars, two more Amfleets. Cleared Milwaukee Jct. at 8:20 PM.

Lake State southbound sitting in passing siding at Novi about 7:45 PM. Lead engine with full LSR paint scheme plus two others. Sorry, no numbers. Northbound CSX with 4075 plus one on main at same location moving slowly. Went thru Wixom around 8 PM.

The timekeeping on Amtrak has been abysmal. However, I have to disagree that this winter has been unusually mild with no snow. Late January and most of February have not been mild and I have had to clear snow from our property in Wayne County 5 or 6 times.

CP140 with the 8958 went into emergency in Romulus about 6:30 AM today (01/16/19). Dragging equipment under a multi-level car. NS mechanical forces responded about 9AM. Train was to be moved at restricted speed to Preston interlocking for further attention.

I wonder if the suggestion to operate through Michigan without lights came from Norfolk Southern? After all, if there are issues with safety or security, NS would bear most of the costs and responsibility. It may not be entirely CP's call.
